Isla restaurant and terrace is an indoor-outdoor garden oasis with a seasonal menu, carefully curated wine list, and inventive cocktails, and we are now looking for an Isla Waiter/Waitress who will embody our ‘Anything but Standard’ ethos.
Your role
As a Waiter/Waitress at The Standard, London, you will become part of an exceptional restaurants team. You will be passionate about service, very well organised with an exceptional working knowledge of restaurant and bar operations, and the order of service.
You will have a deep appreciation and knowledge of our menu and bar offering to confidently host our guests and enhance their experience, so you need to be highly social, upbeat, and friendly; confident and able to handle pressure well; thrive in a busy high-volume, high-energy environment and manage multiple tasks and guests with ease.

Prior experience as a Waiter/Waitress is essential for this role. You will also have an uncompromised and natural flair for service and be able to build genuine relationships with guests. You will also need…
- Prior experience as a Waiter/Waitress with the ability to engage and connect with a wide range of guests from different backgrounds, ideally gained in a similar ‘Lifestyle’ boutique hotel, or destination or high-quality restaurant or cocktail bar
- Confident in restaurant operations and the order of service, with a passion for food and drinks
- Good level of drinks knowledge from cocktails to beers and wines to confidently make recommendations to guests
- Highly social, motivated, and pro-active; acting with professionalism and positivity in all interactions
- Available full-time with full flexibility to work Monday–Sunday for either the Breakfast team or Evening team (a number of our bars and restaurants operate late-night licences)
- In addition to those with experience we are actively seeking candidates with a diverse range of lifestyle skills and welcome applications from those in the arts, music and entertainment industries.
- Prior experience using squirrel epos is advantageous however full training will be given
