LE BAIN: Your favorite NY muse?
CRAZY P: While Donna Summer wasn't born in New York, she became a recognized icon of the city. Her career is inspirational, and also her journey through Disco which was at times magical, and sometimes very difficult emotionally, from a personal perspective, is something I can relate to - on a smaller scale, of course.
Favorite fictional New Yorker?
King Kong.
Most underrated NY artist?
I'm not very ambitious with my knowledge of NY artists other than Keith Haring, but I saw some photography depicting NY in the 70s - a guy called Camillo Jose Vergera. He shot various scenes in Manhattan, and indeed, the rise of the World Trade Center. More often than not, I prefer the story of a photograph to a painting.
Favorite book with NYC as background?
Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote...It's such a sweet, rich, funny, and beautiful run of events. It weaves through NYC so romantically.
Same question for cinema?
Ghostbusters! Ridiculously good fun and a great use of the iconic NYC buildings. Classic.
All time favorite NYC label?
I think it's really difficult to choose between the Disco labels with West End records being right up there, but maybe Prelude is my fave. Quite happy to be challenged on that though!
