This Thursday, June 13, The Standard, Downtown LA once again showcases LA's music and art scene at their monthly Art Rock. Held in conjunction with Downtown Los Angeles' Art Walk, a free, self-guided, public tour of Downtown’s gallery district, this month's line-up is curated by LA cultural salon, Banquet Days, and includes works by artist Robert Standish and musical entertainment by Das Tapes.
Das Tapes are taking more than a stab at pop music; with Kevin Ignatius chemistrating drums, beat production and lead vocals, and Mark Ignatius as the guitar, bass and synth-wielding doctor, the brother/producer duo are killing it and bringing it back to life. Schooled in jazz and devoted followers of Hip hop and Motown, the gritty beats and polished songwriting featured on their self-titled, -produced and -released EP are just as prevalent on their latest ‘Supreme’ EP.
Artist Robert Standish
