Responsibilities- Effectively supervise all guest arrivals and departures ensuring that room allocations and check-in/check out processes follow set procedures, guest preferences and special requests are fulfilled.
- Ensure proper utilisation of the Front Office system including the preparation of accurate reports.
- Supervision of lobby services including carparking and portering, ensuring guest arrivals and departures are as efficient as possible, inspiring the team to create exceptional Guest experiences.
- Operation of an effective night audit function in conjunction with the Financial Controller.
- Liaise with Housekeeping to ensure room cleanliness standards are maintained while meeting productivity goals.
- Ensure there is management support and presence visible on Front Desk and in the lobby during key times throughout the day.
- Daily liaison with the Reservations office to ensure accuracy in room allocation and maximisation of yield.
- Run and actively participate in regular Front Office meetings. Proactively strive to build positive working relationships through teamwork and clear communication.
- Ensure that all decisions and resulting actions are aligned with The Standard, Melbourne’s policy of 100% guest satisfaction producing a high level of service.
- Approve and facilitate associates 30,60- and 90-day probation reviews, annual performance reviews and intermittent catchups, evaluating the performance of Front Office staff and take corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure the policy and procedure for assigned cash bank and front office cash records is correctly followed and conduct any billing adjustments when necessary.
- Solve, rectify, and mediate any guest issues.
- Implement and monitor the “up-sell” incentive program.
- Complete all ordering/purchasing for the department in line with budget.
- Prepare Front Office rosters overseeing productivity performance in all Front office areas, flexing labor when necessary.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar Front Office role within the hospitality industry.
- Experience in motivating, leading and managing a team to not only achieve great results but have fun!
- Proficiency in Opera and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Desire to motivate and develop a diverse team to their full potential.
- Strong business acumen with financial reporting and analysis skills.
- Eligible to work in Australia.
