Black History Month is an opportunity to honor and celebrate the Black leaders who shape our world and culture. This February, we're launching curated and hand-picked collections in The Standard Shop that amplify the voices of Black creators, artists, and businesses. Our commitment to uplifting Black voices, educating and improving ourselves and our communities, and recognizing the invaluable contributions of the Black community will be celebrated this month and well beyond.

Sean Brown, Founder
Sean Brown is a multidisciplinary creative with a focus on photography and multi-dimensional design. His works, both personal and commercial, often recite themes surrounding accidental meaning: finding context through process, research, and exploration. His emphasis on context was perhaps most pronounced in the launch of his home decor and design brand, Curves, in the midst of the pandemic. Now an expansive line of contemporary homeware and everyday objects, the brand made its mark with a signature collection of handmade CD-shaped rugs, contrasting the image of obsolete technology with the lasting impact of art; all the while drawing inspiration from and bringing inspiration to the home.
