Sr. Sales Manager

Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting, booking and coordinating transient business from managed segment which include; Leisure, Entertainment and Corporate. Manager must actively solicit and sell within the above-mentioned markets.  Manager will create and implement strategies to capture maximum amount of revenue to meet budgeted revenue goals. The position includes the maintenance of department tracking systems, databases and reports. Manager is to represent the sales department both internally and externally in a professional manner in accordance with company standards. This role includes administrative work related to the management of the corporate, consortia, production and social business operations. Manager must work independently and exercise discretion and judgment.

Required Skills/Qualifications

• Must be able to work weekends 

• Flexible hours to accommodate greeting events 

• College Degree in Business, Hospitality, or Related field preferred.

• Hotel experience required.

• Knowledge of Opera, TripleSeat, Cendyn preferred.

• Ability to enter and locate work related information using computers and/or point of sale systems.

• Ability to travel on Sales Trips, attend conferences and Sales releated local events

• Proficient in Microsoft office

• Understanding of reporting and business analytics

• Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor.

• Ability to multitask, work in a fast paced environment and have a high level attention to detail.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Ability to work independently and to collaborate with others to promote an environment of teamwork.


TASKS & DUTIES

Solicit new business opportunities from transient segments (under 10 rooms) which include; Leisure (Consortia + Travel Agencies), Entertainment and Corporate. 

Manage existing relations to retain accounts & solicit new accounts (5-10 accounts YOY)

Manage all relevant RFP’s including replying to bids, renegotioations, payment tracking, rate loading and total account management as well as maintain the RFP tracker

Manage the Local Corporate Negotiated (LCN) rate plan and accounts filling the reservations 

Nuture to maintain existing clients relationships for repeat business

Manage all leads direct and through Tour Connection platform

Uncover potential business coming to the Market through Hotelligence and other systems

Develop a sales strategy by analyzing historical, current and future hotel/market trends

Respond to rate requests (to revenue) with suggested rates – include stats supporting rates 

Analyze Reservations Reports (Uncover any potential leads) 

Facilitate site visits, conference calls, and offsite appointments to solicit and maintain relationships

Manage and oversee all Sales Coordinator Admin work. Ensure that proposals, contracts, reservations and reports are generated correctly.  

Travel to conduct domestic and international sales calls as indicated on the annual travel plan and report on each via pre and post trip reports

Prepare weekly and monthly acitivity and production reports for the Director of Sales in Triple Seat

Execute projects as assigned by Director of Sales

o Prospecting Calls – Defined as a new account, account dormant for 1+ year or uncovering new contact within an existing account

o Follow-Up – Defined as account maintenance – checking-in on a client, following up on event or upcoming stay
